Born in the wintry pines of the Boise National Forest

Christmas 2022 is when it all started. My oldest son, who was six at the time, asked for a Dremel tool from Santa along with some wood and leather to tinker around on. Well Santa came through...for more than my son. The idea of leatherwork popped into my mind and never left.

For the few months leading up to my son's Christmas wish, my family and I were adapting to our new home and lifestyle living in the piny mountains of the Boise National Forest. I was also searching for a new hobby to fill the time after my kids go to bed and when my brain shuts down for some rest. This new hobby had to fulfill one singular requirement: It had to be decently quiet so I could do the activity while my kids were sleeping, preferably inside the house!

Roll out the hides! Not only does leather smell so good, but while doing leatherwork I get the chance to revive my creative skills and use some awesome new tools. As I learned what the hell I was doing and expanded my toolbox (with not always so necessary tools), I started to really enjoy the creative process and the excitement of finishing a project. As generally is the case, my mind took off and began daydreaming of starting a business to sell my leather goods; hence, the idea for F̶e̶a̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶&̶ ̶F̶o̶r̶g̶e̶,̶ J̶.̶ ̶C̶l̶y̶d̶e̶ ̶L̶e̶a̶t̶h̶e̶r̶w̶o̶r̶k̶,̶ W̶h̶i̶s̶k̶e̶y̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶W̶o̶o̶d̶s̶ ̶L̶e̶a̶t̶h̶e̶r̶, Imperial Pine Leather Co. was born.
